Sri Lanka stocks close down 0.2-pct

Feb 16, 2016 – Sri Lanka’s stocks closed down at 0.19 percent with low investor activity and losses in Dialog Axaita and Hayleys, brokers said.

The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index (ASPI) closed 12.01 points down at 6,254.16 down 0.19 percent. The S&P SL20 closed 0.37 points down at 3,256.31 down 0.01 percent.

Turnover was 360 million rupees, down from 491 million rupees Monday with 44 stocks closing positive against 98 negative.

“It was more retail activity and no crossings recorded,” S C Securities said.

The main index was dragged down by losses in Dialog Axaita closing down at 9.90 rupees, down 0.10 rupees and Hayleys closing at 275.50 rupees, down 6.60 rupees.

John Keells Holdings closed at 157.70 rupees, down 1.70 rupees.
